3. Farmers'Street
Auberive Abbey employed lay people (from the 15th century) for agricultural work. The farmers were housed in barns all along the street. The barns became houses in the 19th century. We can see roofs there, on the left side at the end of the street, covered with round studded tiles, worked and molded on the knees - a style that has not changed since the 12th century. The first barn was converted into a Maison de Pays in 1994.
